Face-lift

Definition: The face and neck wrinkles operation is an operation procedure aimed at correction (rejuvenation) of face and neck appearance. The skin and muscles of the face area become flabby and droopy with age. The face and neck lift will not stop the aging process, nevertheless may lift deep face structures and remove excess skin and fatty tissue. This operation is performed individually for each patient. The best candidates for this operation are patients with little skin dermatochalasis, having elastic skin and featured bone structures.

Age : 30 or over

Surgery technique : The face-lift is performed with use of a local anesthetic with an anesthesiologist assistance. The in-cisions are usually of an inverted omega shape. In the upper part, above the ear the incision is made in hairy skin, therefore scars in this area are not visible. In the fore ear the incision is performed inside the ear, so the scar is not visible in this case as well.
After repairing the skin, stitches are placed on the fascia, allowing the facial skin and muscles to be raised. These stitches assure a good cosmetic effect, making the rejuvenation to last for years.
After closing all the bleeding blood vessels any excess skin is removed and absorbable stitches are placed. Such do not need to be removed. The hair stitches are removed within 12 days. The bandage is removed after 7-10 days.

Operation duration : 3-4 hours. After the procedure the patient is under observation for 24 hours.

Recovery duration : usually 12-14 days
